MAGiS Sundays: MAGiS South Australia welcomes all school leavers and young adults in, around, or passing through Adelaide to come along to a MAGiS Sunday! Generally held every three weeks in the MAGiS Room at Norwood parish, MAGiS Sundays in Adelaide begin with mass at Saint Ignatius’ church at 5pm with the wider congregation, and then involve a shared dinner from 7pm, a catch up, a scripture or other reflection, a MAGiS circle and some drinks. Our members are mostly working or studying full-time, share an interest in Ignatian spirituality, and are keen to help each-other in the search for more. We’d love to have you along; please don’t hesitate to drop us a line if you’re interested in finding out more!

Gospel on location: MAGiS South Australia is keen to move MAGiS Sundays beyond our Norwood base. We held a successful reflection and meal at Henley Beach in April and are keen to hold MAGiS Sundays at Black Hill, Morialta and Windy Point lookout over the warmer months of 2009. More information on this site when plans take shape!
MAGiS Evening with…Sacha SJ: MAGiS South Australia hopes to organise an evening with Fr Sacha of the Jesuit Refugee Service later this year. We’ll keep you updated on this over coming months…
Fred’s Van: MAGiS South Australia is proud to be able to help out the Saint Vincent de Paul Society with its good works. MAGiS SA members take turns to help prepare and serve a meal at Saint Paul’s Hall in Ferryden Park, in Adelaide’s inner north-west, on a weekly basis. More help is always appreciated, so if you’re interested please get in touch with Catherine, Stephen or Barbara.

National experiments: MAGiS South Australia members are encouraged and sustained in their commitment by regular
conversations and meetings with members of the wider MAGiS Australian community. MAGiS SA members have partaken in MAGiS experiments in Kings Cross in Sydney, at Wilson’s Prom in Victoria, and at Jesuit Social Services in Melbourne. We are also very appreciative of the support of the MAGiS communities in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, and have enjoyed having MAGiS members from interstate participate in our own programs. Get in touch to find out more about how you can get involved with the wider MAGiS family!

Local experiments: MAGiS South Australia is committed to offering members both new and old on-going opportunities to reflect, meditate and discern. In 2008 MAGiS South Australia welcomed hundreds of international visitors to Adelaide and successfully organised four experiments – in Adelaide; at Sevenhill, in the Clare Valley; along the Riesling Trail, also in the Clare Valley; and at Old Koomooloo Station, east of Burra, in the mid-north. In 2009 our members have completed experiments at Middleton, on the South Coast, and at Old Koomooloo Station. Stay tuned for details of upcoming programs over the 2009/2010 summer!
