Pilgrim Reflections: The MAGiS World Youth Day 2011 Pilgrimage

It's been a while since MAG+S2011 and World Youth Day celebrations in Madrid ended. MAGiS Australia pilgrims tell us what they brought back from their 23-day journey in Spain, as they followed St. Ignatius' footsteps and lived in fellowship with young people from all over the world.

'What I learnt about myself and others was largely how relative things are.'  -Thomas

Learning to see God in struggles is the biggest lesson I learnt in MAGiS.' -Ginil

'And my hope and joy that I received from all of this was a deeper awareness of the love of God. How God can use us at our most broken and weak to build something beautiful.' -Beth

Understanding MAGiS

Have you ever looked at a beautiful sunset and felt as if your heart was going to burst? Have you ever given of your time, talent, skill or a little piece of who you are and felt that you had something worthwhile to give and perhaps you wanted to get more involved, to offer more of yourself to the world?

These moments are what MAGiS is about: the desire and inspiration for us to seek more, to be more, to let go of what holds us back.

Pause and Ponder: the 2011 MAGiS National Retreat

We at MAGiS know that the couple of months leading to December will see everyone rushing off to sort out things for uni, Christmas holidays, presents, etc. We reckon now is the time to think about having a retreat at the end of the year.

We are now accepting registrations for the 2011 MAGiS National Retreat to be held on 5-9 December 2011 at Sevenhill, South Australia. It will be a fitting end to the year, and give you the time to unplug, take a breather, experience Ignatian spirituality, discern on choices that currently face you, or deepen your practice of prayer and reflection.

Click here for the brochure containing retreat details and the registration form. Alternatively, indicate your interest through the Facebook invitation page here.
